They don’t have famous names, no statues in their effigies; they are sometimes in the shadows. As a photographer, Luce Nera decided to shine a light on them, to honor them, because without them and their work, the world would not be as beautiful and would not function as well.

Each person who works is in their own work environment, which is often shared and shared with other workers who bring their own backgrounds, cultures, and values.

Each human being adapts as best they can to the collective values ​​of their professional context, along with the changing situations and shifting parameters of their environment. It is up to them to be vigilant in maintaining their own unique values, which reveal their innermost feelings and ensure their deepest identity.

Motivation for work is very varied. Even if money is a significant driving force, the values ​​of excellence, merit, effort, creativity, and the need for recognition are often present and guide our choices, our ways of being and acting.
Passion, pleasure, a sense of usefulness, and of contributing to a common project sometimes constitute a strong commitment for some workers.

This isn’t just about illustrating professions, but about telling their stories, giving a face to those who welcome, manufacture, serve, repair, cultivate, transport, care for…
Those who, day after day, do their work without necessarily expecting glory. It’s their lives!
